From the Main Text Asset 3-Dot Menu

  1. When you create a Story, CPS automatically adds a Main Text InCopy asset and sets the asset to the first step in the editorial workflow: WRITE.

To modify the workflow step OR change the person assigned to complete that step,
locate the Story assets widget and find the Main Text asset (purple icon). Click the 3-dot menu to the right of the asset and click “Assign to” to edit the Workflow:

  2. The "Edit workflow" dialog box displays:

    1. Workflow – defines the specific asset workflow to be used (in this case, Text – Main Daily Digital)
**** Do NOT change the Workflow! ****
    2. Step – defines the task to be completed in the workflow, choose the next step to move forward
    3. Assigned to – defines the assignee for the task (also known as workflow target)
Note: If you are unsure of who to assign to next you can check the Story Team information in the Story widget.
    4. Manual Deadline – enter the deadline date and time for the next task, as this is what will make the task show in the Assignee’s My Tasks widget with a specific due date (otherwise it will still show in an Assignee’s My Tasks widget but will not indicate a specific due date) Note: Dates span from 8PM to 7:59PM as a full day
    5. Annotation – enter a version comment here to note necessary information about the specific version.
  3. Click Save to complete changes. An email notification is sent to the Assignee letting them know that the Main Text asset has been assigned (targeted) to them in the system.
