- Navigate to the TM5 Layout and right click > Variants > Create variant without update flag
- Select TM6 in Metadata Dialog box
- TM6 Layout Variant will be created. Please note this will have EXACTLY THE SAME TM5 Print Variant Text placed on it as TM5 layout.
- Next locate your new TM6 Story Asset and assign it to the TM6 Layout Variant.
- Create Print Variant Text of TM6 Main Text
- Remove the TM5 Story assignment from the TM6 Layout Variant to tidy it up by right clicking on TM5 Story and Remove Relations > Assignment
- Open the TM6 Layout Variant in InDesign
- Select the TM5 Print Text variant in the InDesign Asset Query Panel and from the division-symbol icon in the tool bar select Detach Assets and click OK.
- This will detach the TM5 Print Text Variant InCopy asset and remove the actual text from the page, but the text boxes will stay intact.
NOTE: You can also select "Dissolve assets." This has exactly the same effect as "Detach", except the text remains on the page and is editable directly in InDesign. Downturn the triangle next to the TM6 Story asset to reveal the main text and the TM6 Print Text Variant
- Drag the TM6 Print Text variant to the first text box to place. You are then ready to cut and paste into the other text boxes and style it.
- Save InDesign Layout back into CPS by clicking on Save and Close icon in the Asset Query Panel toolbar.

- Right click on the TM5 Print Variant Text
- Remove Relations Assignment
